In 1994 Bob Aronson started AA MARINE when he could not hold back his love for Boating and Fishing any longer. Bob was raised in a family of boaters. His uncle raced and built boats for many years. From a very early age Bob started watching his grandfather and uncle build boats and talk about how to make the boats perform better. When Bob was 9 yrs old, he decided to take on the task of drawing plans to build a boat for himself from scratch. Remember 9 yrs old, there were a lot of lawns mowed and other chores to get the money to be able to do this. The boat turned out great and he had lots of fun with it. Since then Bob has built several other boats, one very memorable boat a lot of his friends remember, was a 19’ Center console fishing boat named WOODY that caught about every fish you could think of in Southern California and Baja. These kinds of things have given Bob the advantage over his competitors in understanding what makes a good fishing boat for our area. Bob says, “Always Ride in the boat before you commit to buying it.”

All of Bobs Staff at AA MARINE have had similar experiences with boats their entire lives. The combined experience and knowledge that AA Marine’s Staff offers is one that no other Dealership can match.

Mike Rodney, Sales Departmet
Mike Rooney's boating and fishing days began in a 14 ft wooden rowboat in the Atlantic Ocean off the rocky coast of Capetown, South Africa. Today, and many boats later, he proudly drives Reel Busy II, a 256WA Sea Fox with twin 175 hp Suzukis decked out with Furuno and Simrad options. As a veteran boater and skilled fisherman, he possesses a wealth of knowledge of all varieties of boats and equipment suitable to specific applications. It's no surprise that he is well respected by his customer base and held in high regard for his overall service and customer satisfaction levels. Mike is a valuable contributor to the success and growth of AA Marine. NOTE: Mike is easily accessible on his cell at (760) 889-7060, with the only exception when he is out of range fishing on Reel Busy.

Russell Monolias, Service Manager
With salt water flowing through his veins, Russell has been involved and has supported the boating community for over 30 years. As a technical advisor to a large marine company, he was relocated to San Diego where he participated in two America cups starting in 1988. As a captain and owner of Sunset Charters, Russell has been working with commercial and government ships, world class cruising vessels and off shore fishing boats of all sizes. When asked what he felt was most rewarding in Boat Sales, he answered, “It’s extremely rewarding when you can help a customer and their families make their dreams come true at the same time making a difference in their boating activities while maintaining a focus on safety. It doesn’t matter how large or small the vessel is, there is a common bond upon the sea that unites us and brings all of us together.” Russell’s homeport is in Oceanside where he has joined the AA Marine team as the service manager. He goes on to say, “Boating related questions are always welcome and if we do not have the answer to a question, we will find it! And that is guaranteed. Happy Boating!”

Doug Wallas, Service Writer
When I was 6 years old my Dad pulled into the driveway with our first new boat. My Dad was a second generation commercial fisherman here in Southern California. I grew up diving Catalina and San Clemetie Island. So having a boat meant going to the boat shop. When we went out back to the service department I saw the mechanics and new thats what I wanted to do when I grew up. So I began my quest to be the best marine mechanic I could be. I am a four time master tech for Johnson and Evinrode Outboards, factory trained for Johnson and Evinrode Outboards, Stern Drives, also Valvo, Mercury Outboards and Stern Drives, Yamaha, Suzuki and many other products. I am on board here to take care of all your boating needs. Doing the job right the first time so you can enjoy your boating instead of having your boat back at the shop waiting to have it repaired again!
